The International Air Transport Association (IATA) revealed that the aviation sector is expected to achieve record profits next year, despite ongoing supply-chain problems that are slowing aircraft deliveries and delaying the entry of more fuel-efficient planes into service.
According to IATA, airlines are expected to post a total net profit of US$41 billion in 2026, up from US$39.5 billion in 2025. The net profit margin is also expected to remain stable at 3.9 percent, the same as in 2025.
